I cannot get enough of Jazon Mraz’s album “We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.” It is all I listen to. It’s smooth, insightful, emotional, fun and reminds me of sunshine Actually all of his music reminds me of sunshine because it’s fresh, fun and light.
I wish I could tell you my favorite song, but I actually don’t have one. Every song is charming! I truly get lost in his music. I’ll do my best to describe some of the songs.
“Butterfly” is naughty. The song is saturated with sex and infatuation, yet it’s not trashy or vulgar. The percussion is so much fun to listen to. It’s the type of song you’d expect to hear at some fancy outdoor/beach bar while sipping on a glass of sangria.
“Lucky” you’re probably familiar with. It’s an instant classic for long-distant relationships. Colbie Caillat sounds light, airy and beautiful. Their voices dance in the air.
“If It Kills Me” broke my heart. Have you ever been in love with one of your friends, then missed your chance? That’s what this song is about. “All I really want to do is love you, a kind much closer than friends use. And I still can’t say it after all we’ve been through.” Yup, been there.
“The Dynamo of Volition.” This song is a upbeat, dance good time. It’s chock-full of the quick, sassy lyrics and rhythm you’re used to from Mraz.
I’m not getting any money or incentives for this… but buy the album. Get in your car. Roll down the windows and turn up the music. It’ll be your instant happy place. It’s mine. :o)
