Imagine if you will: a clear, crisp 75 degree night. You’re with your three best childhood best friends sitting on a roof top bar, with a distant view of the downtown Minneapolis skyline. You’ve got your favorite drink sitting in front of you and a delicious plate of food next to it.
That was my Labor Day night. It was great. I don’t remember the last time the four of us were together. We don’t hang out anymore because we haven’t lived in the same place since 2003.
Rachael travels the world, living in a different city or country as often as she can. Alissa is studying astrophysics, doing work for NASA, and is studying to get her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. Kristyn, my fashionista friend, is my neighbor in Uptown. She’s my partner in crime, and is always up for an adventure.
Between drinks, tasty sushi from Stella’s and a phone call to another friend who is out of town, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much. We swapped gossip, updates on other friends and reminisced. It was everything I loved about summer/fall nights and so much more.
