… seven to go until the 5k.
So far, I think this is doable. I’m not even thinking about the 1/2 marathon (much). I want to kill this 5k. I’m going to own this 5k. I keep telling myself that at least…
Today was Sunday, which meant it was a rest day. I love rest days. I bought an ice pack and did some reading. I want to know more about my shin splints and the proper way to breathe while running. I can tell I’m doing it wrong, which is enabling my runs. I found Runner’s World, I like the site a lot. There is a lot of good information and very interesting articles. So far, it’s been my favorite running resource (next to Heather, that is).
I’ve slowly been recruiting others into running too. My sassy co-worker Sonya is going to run the Reindeer Run 5k with me. We’ve already signed up, so no turning back now! My dad said he might too - he’s never ran a 5k either.
As far as that unmentionable 1/2 marathon: I’ve got quite the montle crew of co-workers who’ve jumped off the deep end and said they’d run it too. Carly was the first to say she’d think about it, then Liz agreed to sign on. Mark seemed actually excited to run it. Then Reg got suckered into running it too.
But as Mark said after making the pact, “Running 13 miles is nice.”
Nice? …we’ll see about that. I’m still trying to master running one mile.
