Herm kicked to the curb.

So everyone is talking about it, I might as well say something too: Chiefs head coach Herm EdwardsHerm Edwards got fired today. Is this really a surprise to anyone? The guy has a 16-28 record with the team. I’m fairly certain I could coach the team to a better record.

All I do know for sure, is Scott Piloi, the Chiefs new GM, is probably the most loved man in the city right now. It only took him 11 days to kick Herm to the curb. “After careful consideration, Clark [Hunt, team owner] and I felt that it was best to make a change,” Pioli said.

Um, duh. Edwards only won six games in the past two seasons.

ESPN.com is reporting the Chiefs are going with Denver Broncos’ coach Mike Shanahan to replace Edwards. Seeing as I’m a huge (not really a) Chiefs fan, I really don’t know what that means as far as team loyalty, but no one’s heads have exploded yet. The dude did lead the Broncos to win two back-to-back Superbowl’s in ‘98 & ‘99.

And let’s be honest, Chiefs fans would be happy with two back-to-back wins, let alone a post-season game. So Shanahan can’t be all that bad.
