What’s in a name?

A new study reveals boys with unpopular names are more likely to be a delinquent. Researchers from Shoppensburg University in Pennsylvania found that race wasn’t a factor when engaging in criminal activity. In fact, the least popular a name, the more likely they would end up behind bars.

The study says while the name itself isn’t the cause of the crime, people with less common names tended to come from low socioeconomic areas and disadvantage home environments. Researchers also say having a less popular name leaves the person at a disadvantage of building relationships with peers and more susceptible for getting bullied.

So does this mean that all of those celebrities with crazy baby names (aka: Apple, Suri, Tallulah and Harlo) are raising the future cellmates? Probably not. But this study does make me think twice before judging someone on their name.
