No magic pill… boo.

If you know me well, you know I’m constantly trying to lose weight (I’m not fishing for comments, I’m simply stating a fact). Most recently, I tried no-carb, then low carb diets… right now I like South Beach. It’s really hard for me to give up carbs completely, I go crazy.

I’ve searched for days, weeks, years for the perfect diet for me. You see, I believe each person needs a different types of diets. Some people can do well on shakes or meeting-based programs, and others, like me, need strict “you can or can’t eat this” programs.

Today a study came out saying it doesn’t matter which diet you’re on. It found people who saw a counselor were more successful in reaching their goals. No single diet was better than another. It found the key to weight loss on any program was calorie count. Boo. It’s not ground breaking, I know. To lose weight, you have to consume or burn less than you’re eating. I just liked thinking there was a magic solution or plan.

With that said, I’ve been really lax on hitting the gym. So, I will once again make a public statement, so the tens of dozens of you reading this can keep me accountable. I will start going to the gym and eating fewer calories.

Wish me luck. Yikes!
