Note to self: don’t become a reality TV star. Don’t become bankrupt. Don’t let VH1 turn my life into a TV show (twice).
Now that I’ve reminded myself which path to not go down… I can share what I did today. I went to child actor, Willie Aames’ house for a garage sale. Ames starred in Eight is Enough, Charles in Charge, and Celebrity Fit Club. he’s now bankrupt and being forced to move out of his Olathe, KS home. He desperately needs money, and is now part of a VH1 show that gives him a life counselor. Today he held a garage sale for money and to relearn personal skills.
My co-workers Lindsay and Meagan also went, we brought the station’s digital camera and got video. It was then edited nicely and put together in a little package for our website, fox4kc.com.
I didn’t get a chance to meet Willie, but his producer Greg is a very nice man. Lindsay did meet him.. she’s the girl in the blue coat buying the DVD.
Side note: sorry I look like a mess. I worked at 2 a.m. and didn’t know I would be doing this story.
